[Varian still feels like utter shit, the deathflu is way, way worse than he thought it was. Glitch is someone he would have liked to go to see in person. He might not have known him that long, but he was swiftly finding himself in the circle of people Varian thought of as friends. But he can't get out of bed, and his throat hurts, so Glitch will have to live with a text like a dirty breakup. ]

Hey, Bud. Sorry I tried to murder you with a robot. Remember when I told you that the lady with the hair had complicated reasons for helping me? Yeah. I've not exactly got a clean record. I just wish it hadn't come out like that. I didn't want to be that again.

Are you okay? Did you survive the rest of everything going on?

[ You know, he expected this message. After Glitch had fought with Varian it didn't take much digging into and therorizing what might've caused this.

His plea on that lock up post about not wanting to hurt anyone, and that Ultimate Betrayer title that was in his network name. Most people had them but to different variations. The boy guessed that perhaps the titles were making people very Extra in those kinds of traits.

So, he's guessing that might be why Varian tried to kill him. Another reason to hate that nun and the bear since this is what they wanted, wasn't it?

So, when Varian sends this text to him with an apology Glitch only has one response to the questions; ]

[ It was a promise made and a promise acted on. How Clover got into the house was secret and maybe from a thing or two he picked up from Ruby. The fact of the matter was he was in Glitch's room just at the crack of dawn.

Suddenly there was a noise.

Clover stands at the foot of the bed brandishing a trumpet and Kingfisher. The former for the wake-up call Glitch would come to expect and the latter in the event said morning calls got hostile. ]

Ri----IIIise and shine, future Huntsmen! We've got one run of many to do!

[ There are many things Glitch expected to happen this morning. Getting up to eat. Getting ready to go out. Maybe do some knife throwing practice.

What he didn't predict was the fact Clover making due on his punishment/promise. The loud blaring noise shocks him awake and he lets out a yell as he throws his hands in the direction of the noise. He fires a bolt of lightning out but he's so tired and disoriented it just crashes harmlessly into the wall, missing Clover by a good several feet. ]

Whaaaa?

[ He mumbles, wiping at his eyes, blearily staring ahead. When his vision becomes clearer he's greeted by the sight of a certain huntsman. His tired expression turns to one of aggravation. ]

Fuck, Clover! What the hell! What time is it? And how'd you get in my room?!

There's not much that can be done other than if that fuck, Maul goes on a murder spree I'm gonna need to take him down.

[ it's a little hard to ignore the red guy with the horns laughing over the people he's killed on the network. it makes barry want to leap into his red costume and do the whole saving thing. but what's more disturbing is how he speaks to glitch.

he is more than confident that glitch can handle himself (he could snark someone into submission), but it still has him worried. ]

Hey, Glitch. I know you're fully capable of looking after yourself, but if you need anything, I'm here.

[ he'd do this over a video or voice call, but he doesn't want glitch to feel like he's being put on the spot. he knows how confronting this stuff can be. ]

Even if that means just snarking at someone.

[ If not for this just happening he might not have understood why Barry was messaging him out of the blue. But, it did and this is happening. Glitch is a mix of emotions and it's hard to type so he goes for voice instead; ]

Look. I know it's probably your whole shtick about not killing people and being a superhero or something and killing is bad.

But if he fucking tries anything I am going to end him. If to make sure he doesn't fuck up anyone else who didn't deserve it.

Hey. What happened between you and Maul? He's messaged me asking about help with his legs but he's being pretty weird about it and yelling about you a lot.

Are you okay? Did he hurt you?

[ When Glitch gets this text he's already angry. Not the fact that Varian is bringing up Maul but the fact Maul went and spoke to Varian and probably just told a botched story of their encounter. Maybe framing himself as the woeful victim and Glitch as the villain.

So, Glitch flicks on the feed, and Varian will see him pulling down his collar, where there's a large bruise forming on his neck. ]

The man has fucking issues.

They're winter gloves, so they'll keep the hands warm but also make it easier to stick to stuff & scale things.

[ He's gotten another gift from someone. He's only had a few of these given to him in his life so it's a lot to take in when Mako, someone he's barely known left this for him. So, he does respond; ]

[You know what’s great? The Blood Apocalypse being over. Know what’s better? Sleep. Sleeping for two straight days without having to be wrapped up in a pink sparkly pair of unicorn shaped pajamas. By the second, Dipper is still deep in sleep debt, but he feels like he actually got some rest, so he is out and about.]

[Which is why he’s at Glitch’s place. Turns out he already met all his house mates and he has reason to be here for a number of reasons. Ford helps Varian with science, Fern offered to give him combat lessons, and of course, there’s bothering Glitch, who Dipper thinks is one of the coolest people he’s ever met.]

[And that is the particular reason he has found Glitch’s room and gives the door a knock. He waits, fidgeting a bit with the new eyepatch.]

[ Glitch was in his room at this time, having already caught up on his own lost sleep. October had been a reminder of the sleep schedule he was use to and while difficult to sleep back in it he managed. If not for the tower he's almost certain he could've monstered out.

Right now, he's sitting on his bed playing on his normal guitar, twanging at the strings. He's so focused he almost doesn't catch the door being knocked on. He looks up and sets the guitar aside and approaches pushing it open slowly. He looks around not seeing anyone until he looks down and see's Dipper. ]

Huh? Dipper? What are you doing here? [ He won't ask how he got in, He's assuming breaking and entering. ]

A gift!!

[ Around the 25th, there's a parcel wrapped in brown paper left for Glitch. Inside is a winter vest similar to his, only with blue and gold stripes along the collar and shoulders. There's a belt to go with it as well.

And he even remembered to put a note!! He's so sorry about his handwriting. ]

You also go out into the woods and chop down a tree and put it in your house, for the ambience I guess. There's also a guy in red who breaks into your house. I don't know his deal.

Anyways, Kurt got me a bunch of Christmas sweaters last year so I thought I'd get you one to wear too. It's awesome and you can use your lightning powers to make it light up! Have fun!

[Maul has put all his sneaky warrior-ninja skills to good use, breaking into people's houses in the early hours of the morning, and leaving them their gifts in spots where he's sure they'll find them, with a tag addressed to them from Maul. He doesn't quite realize this gesture could be taken the wrong way given this is Deerington and all, but it's the thought that counts.

Maul finishes giving his gifts to Varian and Fern, but don't worry Glitch. He didn't forget you. Frankly, in this case, he hopes the boy might be freaked out with the break-in. The two gifts are left with a note that reads 'In lieu of an assassination attempt, I have given you something useful instead.' And people say Maul doesn't have a sense of humor.]

[ By this point in the month Orpheus is feeling much better than he was at the start, the fatigue starting to ebb and most of the hoarseness gone from his voice - though he still doesn't sound quite right. Due to other circumstances, though, he finds himself spending a lot of time inside, and as such he's been actually checking the network for once. ]

[Sarona hadn't been exactly sure if handing it over to Ruby or doing it herself was the best course of action, but she also knew she couldn't finish the adjustments if she didn't at least seem him once. We've never talked, but Ruby and I built you an arm. If you want it, I need to put it on you to finish the adjustments and add the last of the runes to make it work.
