Ultimately, if he remembers it really depends on what he says about this. If he's even fucking sorry or not.
[ But he can't fault her for Ruby's unflinching optimism. That was just her in a nutshell.
But, her throwing herself into danger if the two of them tried anything? He frowns. ]
They're dangerous. I don't want you fighting them on your own.

That'll kind of confirm how I feel and what I should do about all this.
But at the end of the day he still hurt you and I'm not going to let that slide either.
[She gives a nod.]
I wont, I promise. I have too many people who care about me to walk into a fight like that on my own.
And a lot of those people also care about you, so if I needed to I could always ask them to help out.

It shouldn't take a promise for him not to do this kinda stuff...but thanks at least for that.
[ He could appreciate that much that Ruby wouldn't let it slide at all.
He does pause at Ruby's words, rubbing at his shoulder. It's still hard to believe he could have people like that in his life. Sure, he's cared for others but, he'd never felt it himself...so, he nods slightly. ]
Thanks, Ruby...
[ Still, all of this talk about people who cared about him just made him hurt in another way. ]
...I really want Clover back...

But I was trying to help as best I can. It seemed like a better idea than you know... Alternative options.
[Not that she wouldn't fight Maul off for Glitch, but one fight is a temporary here.
There's a pause and she feels a couple tears well up hearing him say that, because she misses him so much too. And... She knows he's not going back home- He was just gone.]
Me too... More than anything.
I miss him so much.

If I were back home I'd have to be dealing with this on my own.
[ Because that's how it was. He thought there was someone who had his back at home but he can't remember them. It was just him taking care of those kids and if anything happened to him there was no one to fall back on.
There's a long pause as he's already leaning his head against his pillows. ]
At least, if he ever comes back here, he'll remember you. [ There's no guarantee though for him. He was after all, the outsider. ]

But as long as we're both here, as long as our family is here. you're never going to face anything here on your own.
[Those words give her more than a little pause and she considers them briefly.]
Yeah... Well, it's more than a little complicated- But I feel like either way I'll spend most of time trying to make it up to him.
What happened to him back at home...
no subject
[ But, what's there to really say than what has been said? His dark little world got opened up thanks to the people here. ]
That's not on you. What happened isn't on you. You didn't pick up the thing that cut him down.
[ Because he knows it's not really anyone's fault other than the killer.
The Scorpion man he vaguely heard of. ]
no subject
[That... Actually brings a little relief to her eyes and her shoulders go a little slack.]
No, but I put them in the situation where it could happen. Even if I'm not fully responsible, I still played a part.
But if I ever see Tyrian again. He wont get away with what he did.
no subject
So, he says; ]
If this were the other way round, if I had done what you did and put them in that scenario, would you think it's my fault?
[ Either way, he does nod; ]
If that guy shows up here, he's losing more than just a tail.
