I dunno how much of a bottom it comes to Ruby.

Ultimately, if he remembers it really depends on what he says about this. If he's even fucking sorry or not.

[ But he can't fault her for Ruby's unflinching optimism. That was just her in a nutshell.

I wont, I promise. I have too many people who care about me to walk into a fight like that on my own.

And a lot of those people also care about you, so if I needed to I could always ask them to help out.

He does pause at Ruby's words, rubbing at his shoulder. It's still hard to believe he could have people like that in his life. Sure, he's cared for others but, he'd never felt it himself...so, he nods slightly. ]

[ Because that's how it was. He thought there was someone who had his back at home but he can't remember them. It was just him taking care of those kids and if anything happened to him there was no one to fall back on.

There's a long pause as he's already leaning his head against his pillows. ]

At least, if he ever comes back here, he'll remember you. [ There's no guarantee though for him. He was after all, the outsider. ]

I wouldn't go that far. I think Clover did more for you than I ever could, really.

[Those words give her more than a little pause and she considers them briefly.]

[ There's a long moment he has to consider his words here. Because on the off chance Clover did come back the scenario could arise. He's always thinking of the worst possible scenarios, optimism having to be a learned skill than something innate to his character.
